"Camp Rollinson" in Alleghany County, Virginia

In early February 1999 we completed the purchase of 155 acres of land in Alleghany County.

 
It's completely wooded, undeveloped and pretty wild. Elevation varies from 1300 to 1600 feet with two year-round trickles (at low-water it takes some imagination to call them streams), ridges, and ravines. About a third is "level" (a relative term in the mountains). An old logging road provides access to most of the property.

You can see that David is specializing in wearing "dorky" hats!

Most of the boundary is with the Washington National Forest.

The land is only about 3 miles away from our house [old house in town]. You can see the Forest Hills water tower in Clifton Forge from the east-most ridge.
