Photos from 2009 "Round House Calendar"

In the past I have made calendars using photos from NASA's Earth Observatory site. This year, I decided to showcase photos taken around our new house. With the exception of the cover, all these photos were taken from our deck.

The calendar is dedicated to our BBD (basic black dog), Gellie, who died in early July. She was completely "Sue's dog" -- a border collie mix that we thought was mostly labrador retriever when we got her as a puppy in 1994. A real contrast to the ultimate in mellow "Marty-Dog" (1980 - 1994).

The location is the southern boundary of our land where it borders the national forest.

Night view after the burn. Left side shows original photo. Right side shows enhancement in Photoshop.I'm amazed at the detail that is in the photo. The smoke shows clearly, as does our propane tank and shed.

The tall trees in the background are the edge of our clear-cut. The lower trees are re-growth since then. They border our septic field.
