Part 3 - Erecting the Deltec Shell
Spring 2006
The house is an 18-sided "Sierra" model from Deltec
Homes in Asheville, North Carolina.
Two trucks arrive and are unloaded.
Floor joists are laid.
Installing the floor.
Now the walls can be put up.
Setting the roof trusses.
Roof is underway.
Weather-secure -- six working days from foundation to "under roof".
Finishing work continues for some months!
Shingles on roof.
And finally--after the basement floor has been poured--we get to backfill.
No more moat!
The exterior finishing continues with a front "stoop" and door.
"Back side" view. (late October)
Side view. Landscaping is long ways away, but the house is nearly complete.
